History: Original oil painting on canvas. First inspired by an Indian dancer named Dale Hall. This work captures the intellectualization of the artist. Montyne started Indian Fantasy in San Francisco, California - 1954. It is uncertain if the piece was finished at that time. Never the less, the work came to life after the artist met his beautiful wife China in 1956. This painting captures not only the master at work, but his undying love he shared for his wife. This would be the beginning of a series of works that she would star in. The totality of colour and the majestic background hypnotize the viewer as the portrait gentle rest within the gratuity of nature. Considered one of his best works, Indian Fantasy is truly more than a work of art. It is a labor of love. Signed, Montyne Sudbury ‘59’.
